Data Center Technician (m/f/x)
Keep our server hardware running in our Cologne data center and make sure our customers can reach their servers at any time.
Our servers live in a modern data center in Cologne. To keep our customers' game servers, root servers and domains running reliably, we need you on site: you install new hardware, replace faulty components and keep the infrastructure in shape. You work closely with our engineering team and help decide what our racks of tomorrow will look like.
Who we are:
EmeraldHost started in 2016 with Minecraft game servers, VPS, TeamSpeak and domains. All of that is still part of what we do, and over the years more and more games have been added, by now over 100, from Rust and Palworld to Hytale. Our customers are groups of friends, large communities and streamers who rely on their game server being up when everyone comes online at the same time in the evening.
Behind it all is still a small team, spread across Cologne, Hamburg and remote. What grew here was the product range, not the apparatus around it: decisions are made where the work happens, not three levels above it. For you that means no fixed job description, but an area you genuinely own, and ideas that go live in days instead of ending up in a quarterly meeting.
What matters to us: making hosting simple and honest. No fine print, no support that puts customers off, no processes for the sake of processes. If you would rather build things than run alignment rounds, you will fit in well here.
These tasks are waiting for you:
- You install new servers, switches and cabling in our racks.
- You replace faulty hardware such as power supplies, memory and drives.
- You carry out regular checks in the data center and document them properly.
- You support our engineering team in planning new capacity.

- You live in or around Cologne and can be on site flexibly.
- You communicate clearly and like to get hands-on.
