In V Rising you awaken as a weakened vampire after centuries of slumber and find a world that has long forgotten you. Blood keeps you alive, daylight is your greatest danger. Between forests, villages and ruins you look for prey, raw materials and a place where you can gain a foothold.
A simple crypt gradually becomes a castle of your own: you claim your territory, put up workshops, storage and defences, and set up a home that shields you from the sun. Expanding it costs resources that you first have to secure out in the world.
You grow stronger mainly by hunting powerful enemies whose blood unlocks new abilities and blueprints for you. The combat system asks for timing and the deliberate use of your powers, especially against the tougher bosses. Whether you play solo, join others in a clan or measure yourself in PvP is up to you.
On your own V Rising server at EmeraldHost you set how your world works: PvE or PvP, gathering and progression rates, clan size and the rules for castle raids. Your castle stays standing even while you are offline, and you decide who is allowed to join.
