Soldat 2 is the successor to the 2D multiplayer shooter and carries the arena action forward. You take control of a soldier and face other players in short, dense matches. Weapons, maps and modes are laid out so that reaction speed and timing count in equal measure.

The fights are fast and demand precision. Machine guns, shotguns and rocket launchers cover different ranges, and choosing your position well makes up for the odd missed shot. Classic shooter elements meet more modern movement here.

There are several modes, from classic deathmatch to capture the flag, plus arenas that each offer their own routes and tactical options. Along the way you pick up power-ups and unlock new weapons, so every round feels a little different.
